One of the biggest problems faced by residents of Kiubaat village is the lack of a reliable livelihood. Most people rely on traditional farming techniques to plant rice and corn during the rainy season (December – March). However, these crops can only be harvested once a year. Outside of the rainy season, most people will take on odd jobs in order to earn an income, but usually there is not enough work to ensure basic needs.
