Sarlin Ndolu (80 years old) and Dorkas Fanggidae (47 years old), both widows living in Hoteas Hamlet, Helebeik Village, Lobalain Subdistrict, Rote Ndao, had for many years struggled to meet their daily need for clean water by drawing it from a well and carrying it home. At their age, this heavy work often caused pain in their shoulders.
Today, life for Nenek Sarlin and Mama Dorkas is much easier. Through YTLM's clean water facility program in Helebeik Village, they no longer need to draw and carry water. Simply by turning the tap beside their house, clean water is now within their reach every day.
For Nenek Sarlin and Mama Dorkas, this simple water tap has brought a big change, making their days calmer and healthier.
