Yohana, a 40-year-old housewife, working as a vegetable trader. She is married and blessed 3 children, they are 16, 13 and 8 years old. To meet daily needs, Yohana and husband - Nikodemus Na'u are working in the field but her husband also working odd jobs such as selling vegetables in the market, construction worker and even daily worker. Yohana realized that the children are growing up, they need financial support for their education needs.
Yohana expressed her gratitude when she was introduced with TLM Foundation program by the village government in Oebobo in 2023. TLM Foundation collaborated with the local government to focus on the program of Healthy, Prosperous and Disaster Resilient Village.
Yohana was selected as one of Healthy Village Cadre member where the team was trained TLM Foundation staff become a local volunteer in Oebobo village in implementing health program (stunting prevention) with the main tasks of looking after the seedling house to provide horticultural plant saplings for pregnant women's families to create healthy kitchens around their respective yards which become a source of nutrition for pregnant women/mothers and children in Oebobo village.
Yohana was very excited to share about her roles as one of Healthy Village Cadre in TLM Foundation program since addition to improve her knowledge in farming she also can serve people and can be a blessing for others.
Yohana said “I am so happy for so far I have only planted seasonal vegetables since the limitation of capital to buy seeds, but after being facilitated by TLMF through the seed house, I was trained in good and correct nurseries, improved my skills in vegetable farming so I can sell plant saplings, while the rest "I planted it in my yard so that since taking care of the seedlings at home, my income is increasing, I can earn amounting of money IDR 800,000 to IDR 1,000,000." Furthermore, Yohana explained the income she earned allows her to meet their daily needs at home instead of asking money from her husband
“Now I can meet our daily needs and children education needs, moreover my first child who is studying in Vocational School requires a lot of money for practical lessons so my husband and I feel helped with the income earned”, she added. Yohan also told that the beneficiaries (both pregnant women and toddler) appreciated her spirit in serving them where Yohana is always willing to accompany TLM Facilitator to visit pregnant women, babies and toddlers of beneficiaries of TLM Foundation program.
The beneficiaries said, they are lucky for having Yohana as they can be cared for with her assistances such as providing nutrition food program for pregnant women, children and toddlers, providing nutrition food at school and K3 program for pregnant women. Since I involved in TLM Foundation program, I feel blessed. In addition, I become a channel of blessing for other people in my village." Yohana said with tears in her eyes.
She also said thank you for TLM Foundation and donors that have involved in this good program, the seed house now gives impact to Oebobo village especially for her family as well
